still my favourite bays

i spent an amazing, relaxing few days the past weekend in coles bay with my parents and littlest brother.
i went jogging on the beach, walking on the beach at sunset, hiking to wineglass bay, sitting on the beach... have i mentioned i love the beach?
it is a truly magical place.
the colours always capture me.

sculptures by the sea

on the weekend i checked out sculptures by the sea at cottesloe with a few friends.
these images are a few of my favourite sculptures/shapes/colours and textures.
so inspiring!
what was going to be a little look turned into a 3+ hour self guided tour (with a program) of every artwork, including stimulating debates with my two very non-arty companions.
lot. of. fun.

(note: might want to hurry up if you want to check it out perth people.
it finishes tomorrow)

the best view

it's just a walkway to a beach you might say.

but first thing in the morning this has been a favourite sight.

leaving the car park and walking a little over the rise and this is what i see on my way to a morning ocean swim at leighton beach.

(more float and relax than swim i must admit).

with summer being so hot over here, the beach in the morning is just perfect.

ok, so i haven't gone everyday, but eager to make it more of a habit.

summer lovin'

looking forward to my summer holidays.
can't wait for visits from my musketeers and sister and brother.

my MUST DO list:

picnics with my lil sis.
she's never been to perth before.
so lots of sightseeing and eating.
you can't go wrong when food is involved.
btw how cool is this picnic box set.

read a whole book.
on the beach.
BLISS.

visit different beaches.
western australia has so many gorgeous beaches and i should see more of them.

wishing for what i can't have

right now that would be for me:
summer
(that feels ever so far away – rugged up in 5 layers of clothing)
evening beach walks
(exercise still out of the question for my body, let alone attacking uneven surfaces like sand)
with bunky
(it's an understandably difficult notion to leave good friends behind when you move across the country. but it's a tougher concept to have one of my best friends leave from my 'new' home.)

forgotten sunset

just a photo i found (forgot about) from a few weeks ago.
taken after a run down city beach post work (before my back/hip problems flared up again).
my super fast photoshop shortcut reflexes accidentally turned it black and white.
it was vividly blue and orange but i prefer this.
i'm a bit of a monochromatic girl though *wink*

friday sunset

just another sunset i got to enjoy.
the best ones are at the end of a working week, sitting at the beach, cool wind in your hair and the company of a good friend.
it was great idea bunky.
thanks.
miss you already.

cottesloe love

a hot afternoon at cottesloe enjoying the beach sculptures.
some really great ones this year.
how beautiful are the flags in the wind!

not exactly recent photos but am STILL waiting on my work computer to have internet set up.
how did people use to survive without it???

my new visual image recording device

i got a fabulous new camera!
it's only a digital compact (canon powershot SX120 IS) but does a pretty good job for that.

yes christine and ed, it's a model up from yours and i paid less that you.
mini ha ha.

so saturday after work (yes – i worked saturday)
sj, bunky (two of my MOST AWESOME friends) and me
went down to south beach (fremantle) at sunset for a photo sesh.
just a bit of silliness really.
