really great memories

a little over a year ago, two of my gorgeous friends got married.
the smilebooth at their reception has produced some serious, fall-of-you-chair-laughing moments.
i found these images while cleaning up my computer.
HAD to share.
the last one takes the cake...

a little festivity with friends

last night i threw a dinner party for my musketeers (+ their boys).
we had an absolutely amazing night sitting out in the still summery night at des and sylvia’s.
hours of good food, great wine, fantastic conversation and so much laughter.
i am truly blessed to have such beautiful friends.

pizza! pasta! gelato! vino!

as you may have guessed, all i did in italy was eat.
ok, not all the time, but it was a lot about the food and a few drinks of course.
but italy was just incredible.
so much to see, so much culture, so much history.
i also made some great friends.
boating around the island of capri and swimming though the green grotto in the mediterranean had to be a highlight.
and venice was amazing... and hiking through the cinque terre... and pompeii... and so so much more.
what an experience!

canals, coffee, kroketten, calm and a kindred spirit

experiencing the ‘mother country’ – the netherlands – was one of the best times of my life.
strange and unexpected but true.
the greatest blessing was becoming wonderful friends with my best friend’s little sister leah.
two aussie girls in holland makes for some very amusing moments.
i have never felt so relaxed or spent so much time laughing.
plus there was the AMAZING food, great new friends, breathtaking scenery, long bike rides, scootering adventures, daylight til 11pm, dancing, swimming, running, guitar playing, boat riding, caravan living and so, so, so much more.
i keep being asked why i didn’t travel more in those three weeks, seeing that countries like germany and france are on holland’s doorstep, but the experience i was having far outweighed the desire for travelling alone and sightseeing.
i do believe the travel bug has bitten me, so i’m definately going back to that part of the world again!

my italian adventures will be coming soon...
