oh baby…

i hosted a baby shower this weekend for my darling friend lisa (aka the most perfect looking pregnant girl).

she missed out on the baby shower event for her first with a bit of bad timing.

we had a wonderful afternoon of chatting, eating scrumptious food, sipping cold drinks (+ a little sparkling) and giving gifts.

i have to admit, i can't take any credit for the food – thanks to all the girls for bringing along a plate of deliciousness.

sj's 'indecisive' cupcakes are the cutest!

i created a simple bunting with the themed design printed onto card, cut into triangles and sewed together with bakers twine and an embroidery needle.

plus i made a fun questionnaire for the everyone to predict baby facts for lisa to keep.

the only thing missing was red and white paper straws that i ordered weeks ago, but still haven't turned up.

they would have matched SO well.

the girls with glasses

adore this retro holiday photoshoot in the latest rue magazine (page 138), with the very savvy the girls with glasses.

the glasses philosophy got me too.

i'm an almost permanent specs girl lately – so i must embrace it.

enjoying an occasional evening of exercise at cottesloe or leighton beach.

then sitting in the breeze (and/or gusting wind) watching the kite surfers as the sun goes down.

it's the best relax at the end of what have been very long days lately.

getting lost in time in second hand book stores.

i did emerge with a 17 dollar, 1950's copy of little women, amongst others.

it was my favourite book growing up.

(incidentally a first edition of the book published in 1868 goes for a rather pricey sum of around 22 thousand online.)
