saturday was the heartkids heart to heart fundraising ball.

an amazing evening of food, entertainment, auctions and stories.

it nearly makes you cry to hear what families with heartkids go through.

we (slick design) designed the logo, tickets, programs, certificates etc.

this is the latest promotional material I have been working on for HeartKids.

just a few facts:

• six babies are born with heart disease in australia every day

• heart disease is the main reason children are admitted to intensive care

• heart disease is the leading cause of death in australian children under the age of 5

• heart defects are found in one in every 100 babies born in australia

• heart defects are the most common birth abnormality

new hope

i had a great saturday night at the new hope wine & cheese 'gala'.

wine & cheese being two of my favourite things, but more importantly the night was a fundraiser for the new hope orphanage in west timor that friends in my church are involved in.

also got an update on the wings to work 09 trip and a great night of laughs.

i would love to go on the next trip!

it sounds like such an amazing and rewarding experience.

sometimes in my job as a graphic designer I get to do really GREAT projects.

it has to be one of the favorites out of all the logos i've ever designed.

HeartKids is an organisation to offer support, encouragement and hope to families of children with heart disease, while raising awareness and vital funding into the causes of this chronic disease.

the logo (designed for free of course) is for a fundraising event called cuppa for kids.

the aim of this initiative is for poeple to host a morning tea to support HeartKids in its work to address the needs of congenital heart disease.
