instagram grab
i was very spoilt early in the new year with lots of interstate visitors.
it was especially great having my big sister come and stay with me.
nothing like an early morning summer swim at leighton beach before breakfast.
a very sweet new teapot from my darling mum.
added to my collection of pots… which is still growing.
the beautiful tess drew me this beautiful horse as a birthday gift.
the girl has some serious talent!
(check out her elephant drawing here).
browsing at the free markets I came across my dream sofa.
it was not for sale.
even if it was i'm sure that (a) it would be out of my budget and (b) my apartment couldn't fit another couch anyway.
having fun at home creating a little frame for my front door peephole.
i remember growing up, watching friends and thinking the gold frame on monica and rachel's door was fantastic.
so i made my own.
we have been having some seriously stunning sunsets lately.
God has an amazing colour palette!
i adore the little red velvet cake sarah-jane made me for my birthday.
(this was her inspiration – i love having friends who read my blog).
did i eat half of it in one sitting?
maybe.
i have some great friends…
i got another awesome present, from another awesome friend, to watch birds of tokyo when they came to perth a few weeks ago.
amazing live.
just amazing.
but really no present in the world can equal love…
like the kind you get from beautiful little nephews.
little lewis, you have stolen my heart.
my siblings have to stop having children i think, because sometimes i feel there is no way i can possibly keep loving more of these precious little bundles.
but i do.
and i will.
i am thankful.
i am blessed.

instagram grab: tasmania edition
it seems so long ago now, but i had a great summer break in my home state.
eating the most delicious quail at the taste festival in hobart.
amazing day, amazing people, amazing food.
oh and amazing wine.
i may be slightly biased but tasmania really does have the best produce.
dinner party photo with my darling, darling best friends.
lots of laughter and love.
our dinner parties are always memorable.
sunset on new years day.
spent in my favourite place – coles bay.
a wonderful way to start the new year.
dinner with brother no.2.
i just love this photo!
a definite highlight was a (slightly more than balmy) 40 degrees day spent at honeymoon bay snorkelling with brother no.3.
a crystal clear, cool sea to swim in and shade to read in, plus a spectacular view.
bliss.
holidays, family, friends – i miss you.

instagram grab: family edition
so here are a few favourite shots stolen from siblings' instagram:
the AMAZING bouquet my talented sister christine created for SJ's wedding.
it has to be about the most stunning flower arrangement ever.
i am a bit proud of how creative my sisters are.
honeymoon bay (coles bay) sunset by elise.
it captures exactly how it felt.
it was the most stunning, warm and calm evening.
i am and always will be in love with the freycinet peninsula.
playing dress ups with my nieces and nephew on a visit to my sister's place in tasmania.
who doesn't love an excuse to dress up?
i am still a child at heart.

talking to my best friend for the first time in weeks.
movember week 3.
movember week 3.
walking home in the sunshine.
big hugs from my little sister (even if they were good-bye ones).

instagram grab
so maybe i have inherited a little bit of a green thumb from my mumma's side of the family...
my little herb garden is thriving!
it's so wonderful to have fresh herbs with nearly every meal i make.
my brother ben (right) did so great at the mini triathlon this past weekend.
he got 9th which i think is SUPER impressive considering the competition.
second cousin jayden (left) did even better coming in 6th.
i hope i don't let the bosveld name down since i plan on entering the next one.
top 3 women is my goal – just finishing is more realistic.
spent a fantastic sunny long weekend down in mylup with some great new friends a little while ago.
the gorgeous klazine and i made some seriously impressive sandcastles/sand birthday cakes.
the most adorable little dress for the new princess lara.
i cannot wait to meet her at the end of the year.
love spending saturday morning at the local markets.
we cycle there, eat huge delicious breakfasts, stuff our backpacks with fresh veggies, eggs, bread or flowers and then cycle home.

hello friends!
sorry for my absence lately.
my life has been insanely busy with work, work and more work.
glad to have finished the first draft of a huge project so i can get a bit of balance back into my life.
so thanks to the fortune cookie (left over from a networking event) with a timely message.
before work consumed my life this last few weeks, I got to spend time with my darling brother who was in the state for a little visit.
we finally opened a bottle of (rather expensive) wine we bought years ago.
so wonderful to catch up in person again.
love that kid!
enjoying beautiful yellow flowers that brightened my apartment for over three weeks.
that's value for money.
love my new instax mini and washi tape display.
washi tape is my new favourite for everything.
...and finally, there is nothing like a cup of herbal tea at bedtime.
have a wonderful weekend all.

instagram grab
i'm not much of a cake lover.
but red velvet cake pops?
oh yeah.
work colleges wife's baking experiments.
happy to be a guinea pig.
the true beauty of a winter sunset in busselton the other week.
as the sun does down everything turns calm, pastel and soft.
it's stunning!
surprise mail is my favourite.
especially when i get cute little gifts like this clock from musketeer 1.
(plus wedding photos and a sweet card).
new impulse buy – ceramic birds that brighten up my bedroom wall.
they are seriously the hottest pink you ever did see.
(and you all know how much i love hot pink right now).
super excited to go to the driving range for a hit the other week.
first time i've touched a golf club in about 5 years.
still got it people.
now i think it might be my new "thing to get good at".

what my instagram has been up to this past week
ugg boots on a cold(ish) friday night after a long week.
it's about the simple things sometimes.
my favourite little luxury with the bliss that is aesop resurrection aromatic handwash.
totally indulgent and one of my favourite aromas ever.
spending a wonderful public holiday with ben, katie and eamon visiting me.
my gorgeous brother bought us some delicious macarons from la galette.
splurging on new t2 teas.
lemongrass and ginger is a perfect light and refreshing drink and an old favourite.
new favourite with the nutty flavour of a slightly fermented oolong.
(resisted buying this gorgeous teapot)
and yesterday i had the most amazing breakfast with a bunch of girls at harvest.
soufflé cakes = AMAZING!
the pièce de résistance was the goats curd sorbet.
(i adore anything goats cheese flavoured)

brown packages tied with string...
some very special wedding invites i designed and posted off today.
i'm very excited to share it with you soon.
loving my new "home" at my sisters' place.
especially when ed makes roast chicken for dinner.
that man can cook!
(got to get me one... a cook that is).
stunning spring flowers and blossoms everywhere here in this pristine part of the country.
the weather is still winter (in my opinion) but that doesn't stop the flowers from blooming.

lately...

enjoying an evening tea with a NEW birthday teapot.
very cute and bright.
according to lisa, leena (only 2 years old) picked it herself.
good taste leena.
also good work on not breaking it when you gave it to me.
xxx
relaxing on saturdays.
coffee at xwray is always a winner.
relaxing in the shady heat.
oh and the company isn't bad either.
mmmmmm... nachos.
i will never get over my obsession.
these were joyfully consumed at dinner with my brother darren.
yes my brother.
he came over to visit friends.
oh, and surprise me for my birthday.
good work on getting me back family.
yes, it does nearly give you a heart attack.
i prefer to be the surpriser rather than the surprise-ee.

lately...

receiving lots of 'good mail'.
including invites, thank you cards, packages from etsy (tsk, tsk)…
and this adorable card from my niece alannah.
included in the envelope was a mini envelope of paper hearts.
my heart melted.
who needs a valentine when you get love like that.
late mid-week dinner at (my favourite) next door.
yes, that's the name of the restaurant.
next door.
deeeeeelicious.
pork belly, carpaccio beef and olives to die for.
spending time with this darling girl.
eating, laughing, more eating, more laughing.

lately...

i have a BIG stack of new design books to peruse through at work.
watching some evening cricket after work last week at the waca.
not international – just state cricket.
enjoyed the company more than the game.
loving my little paper crane mobile from darling little alannah.
it hangs in my lounge and matches my the other red accents.

lately...

loving my new three seater brown leather couch.
great to stretch out on at the end of the day.
enjoying sunday night(cap) scotch with friends.
could quite happily make that a ritual.
especially if accompanied by a bit of sinatra.
had a lovely surprise with my spoonful magazine in the post yesterday.
the verdict is, IT'S FANTASTIC.
positive, dreamy and really is a happiness companion.
(secret wish of mine to create my own little magazine one day).
i love it so much i'll have to order the others too.
so happy when i get mail that isn't bills.
yesterday's mail was perfect with a magazine, a wedding invite, a christmas card (and only one bank statement).
mr postman, keep that up.

lately...

enjoying an occasional evening of exercise at cottesloe or leighton beach.
then sitting in the breeze (and/or gusting wind) watching the kite surfers as the sun goes down.
it's the best relax at the end of what have been very long days lately.
getting lost in time in second hand book stores.
i did emerge with a 17 dollar, 1950's copy of little women, amongst others.
it was my favourite book growing up.
(incidentally a first edition of the book published in 1868 goes for a rather pricey sum of around 22 thousand online.)
coming home to sweet little notes on my blackboard.
this gem is from aimee.
