i was very spoilt early in the new year with lots of interstate visitors.
it was especially great having my big sister come and stay with me.
nothing like an early morning summer swim at leighton beach before breakfast.

a very sweet new teapot from my darling mum.
added to my collection of pots… which is still growing.

the beautiful tess drew me this beautiful horse as a birthday gift.
the girl has some serious talent!

browsing at the free markets I came across my dream sofa.
it was not for sale.
even if it was i'm sure that (a) it would be out of my budget and (b) my apartment couldn't fit another couch anyway.

having fun at home creating a little frame for my front door peephole.
i remember growing up, watching friends and thinking the gold frame on monica and rachel's door was fantastic.
so i made my own.

we have been having some seriously stunning sunsets lately.
God has an amazing colour palette!

i adore the little red velvet cake sarah-jane made me for my birthday.
(this was her inspiration – i love having friends who read my blog).
did i eat half of it in one sitting?
maybe.

i have some great friends…
i got another awesome present, from another awesome friend, to watch birds of tokyo when they came to perth a few weeks ago.
amazing live.
just amazing.

but really no present in the world can equal love…
like the kind you get from beautiful little nephews.
little lewis, you have stolen my heart.
my siblings have to stop having children i think, because sometimes i feel there is no way i can possibly keep loving more of these precious little bundles.
but i do.
and i will.

i am thankful.
i am blessed.

so maybe i have inherited a little bit of a green thumb from my mumma's side of the family...

my little herb garden is thriving!

it's so wonderful to have fresh herbs with nearly every meal i make.

my brother ben (right) did so great at the mini triathlon this past weekend.

he got 9th which i think is SUPER impressive considering the competition.

second cousin jayden (left) did even better coming in 6th.

i hope i don't let the bosveld name down since i plan on entering the next one.

top 3 women is my goal – just finishing is more realistic.

spent a fantastic sunny long weekend down in mylup with some great new friends a little while ago.

the gorgeous klazine and i made some seriously impressive sandcastles/sand birthday cakes.

the most adorable little dress for the new princess lara.

i cannot wait to meet her at the end of the year.

love spending saturday morning at the local markets.
we cycle there, eat huge delicious breakfasts, stuff our backpacks with fresh veggies, eggs, bread or flowers and then cycle home.

hello friends!
sorry for my absence lately.
my life has been insanely busy with work, work and more work.
glad to have finished the first draft of a huge project so i can get a bit of balance back into my life.
so thanks to the fortune cookie (left over from a networking event) with a timely message.

before work consumed my life this last few weeks, I got to spend time with my darling brother who was in the state for a little visit.
we finally opened a bottle of (rather expensive) wine we bought years ago.
so wonderful to catch up in person again.
love that kid!

enjoying beautiful yellow flowers that brightened my apartment for over three weeks.
that's value for money.

love my new instax mini and washi tape display.
washi tape is my new favourite for everything.

...and finally, there is nothing like a cup of herbal tea at bedtime.

what my instagram has been up to this past week

ugg boots on a cold(ish) friday night after a long week. 

it's about the simple things sometimes.

my favourite little luxury with the bliss that is aesop resurrection aromatic handwash. 

totally indulgent and one of my favourite aromas ever.

spending a wonderful public holiday with ben, katie and eamon visiting me.

my gorgeous brother bought us some delicious macarons from la galette.

splurging on new t2 teas. 

lemongrass and ginger is a perfect light and refreshing drink and an old favourite.

new favourite with the nutty flavour of a slightly fermented oolong.

(resisted buying this gorgeous teapot)

and yesterday i had the most amazing breakfast with a bunch of girls at harvest.

soufflé cakes = AMAZING!

the pièce de résistance was the goats curd sorbet. 

(i adore anything goats cheese flavoured)
